What Do You Put Up With??

Listening to the radio this morning,and one woman had at one time a motorbike at the end of there bed,as her husband said it was to cold in the garage!!! Another man came on and said that his wife had a 8ft replica of Alien in there sitting room!!! Some chap had a shrine to Robbie Fowler in the spare room!!! The mind boggles surbubia at its best!!!

Our garage is unuseable due to Mr O's collection of thousands and thousands of LP's.
His vaulable ones clutter up the spare bedroom but the ones in the garage are pure tat (including every brass band LP ever recorded).
I'm getting rid of them surrepitiously in dribs and drabs. I should be finished by the next millenium.

I laughed out loud at the lady who had the motorbike at the end of her bed.
Well, many years ago, in a shared flat, we housed a half-built Triumph motorbike in the communal living room.....didnt annoy me in the least!!
Fast forward a few years and i would have returned home from work on many occasions to see bits of motorbike engines in the kitchen, in the cooker, drying off etc. Still didnt annoy me as long as everything was all cleaned up!!
(patience of a Saint, me....lol)!!!

but saying that the dear did manage to put all the xmas decor into the loft the same day , but then again she had the audacity to serve celery and stilton soup up for first course for the second time since christmas ffs. has she no imagination ????

Our garage is also unsueable! My husband has thousands & thousands of Land Rover & Classis Car magazines, in neat piles, but taking up lots of room, Numerous pressure washers (work-in-progress so he says), 3 different welding plants, various tools & equipment (duplications on most), A redundant Land Rover bull-bar, which came with his car, but took it off as classed as dangerous. A redundant new Land Rover roof rack, never used. oh, & his collection of old kitchen mincers - don't ask!
Like you mrs_o, I did have plans to gradually remove the mag's over the coming months, but he said he's definitely going to give them away this year 2009 - we'll see!!

When growing up, we lived in a large mid terraced house, but with a long narrow gulley kitchen (scullery)!
My dad had a car & a motorbike at the time & I remember Mum being busy in the kitchen trying to make Sunday roast dinners, but with Dad pushing his motorbike through it into the back garden to work on it! Then backwards & forwards to his car for bits & bobs for it. She had the patience of a Saint!

smudge - are you a Land Rover widow as well as me???
Mr O has collected Land Rover Owner since day one. He thinks they are all boxed up & safe but I took them to the tip a year or so back.
Also in our garage are various winches, chains, jerry cans and probably a couple of spare Landrovers if all the pieces were put together.
Don't even think of getting me started on his book collection!

He lives & breathes them!
As for books, he has hundreds & hundreds of them too. We have had to extend the book shelves so many times, but we really are running out of space for another! It's really time to sort & let go of some of them.....
I don't have to many books myself, as we have a library at the end of our road, but some of the ones I did have, I boxed up & took to the Help the Aged shop just before Christmas!
I now have only a selected few left, mainly flower arranging, renovating houses & Victorian reference books, also the Diary of Anne Frank & others, neatly diplayed & which I can't let go - yet.....

Doesn't sound muc h, but I hate the stuff with a passion you can only dream of!
The sight, the smell, the feel of it - 'cos it goes everywhere ...
And such is the love I have for the present Mrs Hughes that I will aply this odious stuff to her porrige in the mornings, and occasionally on oatcakes or toast as required.
I would do that for NO-ONE else!!!!
(Well, for my daughters, but that's IT!!!)
