In the Middle Ages (and earlier) tenant farmers paid rent and admission `fines` to the Lord of the Manor. Does anyone know when this ceased? Thanks.

If anyone could shed some light on the following I`d be most grateful. Some 16th century tenant farmers paid an annual rental for `vert` or `greenhew`. What was `vert` or `greenhew`? Many thanks....
