Having been disappointed in the past from unbiblical teaching from the Church Of England and a Gospel Hall, my sins have been weighing heavy on me lately, and I felt the need for Christian community.
So, today I attended a local Evangelical church.
I enjoyed it and was made very welcome.
This could be my spiritual home for the future.
Do any of you have any thoughts on Evangelical churches?

I don't really follow your rationale, Atheist. I had hoped the scriptures would speak for themselves. Those who say there is no God are making a patently foolish statement. Denying His existence is about as foolish as it gets. But despite our foolishness, God gives us multiple chances throughout life to turn from our ways and find full forgiveness,...

Theland.
\\ Nailit, you want a god that stops somebody pulling the trigger, attacking the innocent, pressing the button and calming the weather for starters.//
The problem is, your God, you and people like you, don't want a kind benevolent God. Your God has already nearly destroyed mankind once and you constantly talk about the end time and almost seem to relish the idea of mankind being destroyed the second time and for what, so this omnipotent and compassionate God can have a third attempt to get it right?

Ignoring your strongest critic is childish and shows up just how weak your arguments and convictions are. You talk about evidence but never produce it telling us instead to find it for ourselves. If you really had evidence you would disclose it just to show how wrong we have all been. You state the evidence is in the bible and that's where we will find it but honestly, do you really think the Bible is perfect in spite of all the contradictions it contains? or is it a case that the parts within that you agree with are perfect and the rest can be ignored? Why would a God create such an incongruous and contradictory document?

//Why would a God create such an incongruous and contradictory document? //

Good question, Vulcan.
v. //or is it a case that the parts within that you agree with are perfect and the rest can be ignored? //

What's wrong with that?
What's right with that? If part is deemed erroneous, then the whole must be called into question.
//If part is deemed erroneous, then the whole must be called into question.//

You talk nonsense!
Why? Are you really daft enough to ever trust a liar to tell the truth, khandro?
Khandro, I don't know if you would describe me as foolish or naïve but once I find somebody is a liar I never accept a word they say unless they can and are willing to prove it. Theland is in that category.

^There's a prime example of religious obsession.
Isaac Newton wasn't correct on everything so should we dismiss his entire oeuvre ?
Khandro, there is a difference between being erroneous and lying.
There's a difference between being wrong and lying.
Khandro, there’s was no question of dismissing it in its entirety - simply of questioning it in its entirety. If anyone has a problem with that there must be a reason.
Sorry I forgot, man has freewill!
But so has God and he's done nothing to prevent this.

Very impressive research Nailit, but totally pointless.
For somebody who claims to have read the bible so many times, you sure didn't learn much from your efforts.
Yes I know the world stinks.
That's the whole point of Gods plan, to redeem us and fix the world.
