It is odd that this has been announced: it may not have received wide domestic coverage (hardly surprisingly) but nor has it been covered up.
It's frustrating that it takes headline deaths like this to get people going, given the half million deaths and the kidnapping of children during the war, but that's life

A brave and noble man but a dead man walking. Why on earth leave Germany. Unlike our rapist, murdering ,acid throwing bogus chancers washing up on our Kent shores this man had all the credentials to justify genuine asylum status.

Question Author

He wasn't interested in asylum. He hadn't been persecuted. He was an opponent of the regime and the persecution only happened when he returned. He knew what got Russian people going: it wasn't human abuses because Russians don't care about that - it was corruption and incompetence

But surely he would be able to continue the fight better from abroad given what Putin is like?

Now, apart from headline news for 2 days, there will be nothing and he has probably unwittingly aided in Putins fearmongering.

As for the timing I really think Putin is under the illusion he is a 'god'. He really doesnt care, step out of line and its window, brolly or cup of tea.

There is a man in the USA who has announced that should he be elected president, he intends to give himself powers that would make him a dictator – given America’s power in the world, we should all be worried at such a prospect.

There is always one ^^

^^ So that's OK ^^

This is what I think also. A very public execution, as in the case of the less savoury Prigozhin. It's a gauntlet thrown down to the civilised world: one that must be picked up.

He wasn't persecuted????

Am i wrong in thinking he was poisoned before boarding a civil airline and case-vacced on deaths doorstep to a German krankenhause where they saved his life. Have I got this all wrong or wat it another ofPutin's oppos?

Question Author

Yes correct: that was him: like I say, he wasn't a persecutee (?) looking for safety, he was an active campaigner in a showdown Kara-Mirza also went back, and also was jailed, but Navalny was plainly seen as much moreof a threat - rightly so.

If one speculates, I bet it's a residual effect of that poison the Ruskies use and used on him - I always get confused on whether its Novichok or Novakovic, named after that Serbian tennis player.

its funny the kremlin glosses over all these deaths murders erm in 2024 and before, people fall out of windows all the time, poison erm ate something that did not agree with him, i suppose rocket man does take the award for infamy and mass murder, or maybe not, all the dead russian soldiers...

So what is Trump implying; that he intends to take a gun with him when he meets Putin for a chat ? Because he has B all other ways to progress peace.

The concern must that he intends to threaten to end support of Ukraine resulting in a massive invasion of Russian troops and many decades of resistance fightings between the two instead.

One despairs enough about having no good option for the UK leader next GE, but it pales into insignificance next to the US options for the world at their next election.

//The concern must that he intends to threaten to end support of Ukraine//

He's already doing it. He's instructed his cronies in Congress to block a 85billion aid package for Ukraine and they've obeyed.

Putin's other ally Orban of Hungary tried to do the same with a EU package but they found a way around it.

'The mother of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has been told by authorities that he died as a result of "sudden death syndrome", according to a close ally [of his].'

So nothing to see here, move along.

and now his boby has gone missing. Nothing suspicious there then.
