Watched this last night, found it quite gripping and looking forward to the next two nights. How those cops kept their cool amazes me if it was really like that.

yeah, very good, Tennant plays the part brilliantly. I love the "matter of fact" delivery and the juxtaposition of Nilsen showing compassion for his victims before murdering them. Apparently that's how he really was iin the interviews.
Going to watch it when I've washed up! Recorded it last night.
An excellent programme. Good cast and acting.
He also bears an uncanny resemblance to the actual killer, TTT. Nilsen's Wicki entry is a read and a half!

Yes Ken just been reading it - and as someone said the resemblance of David Tenant's portrayal to the man is uncanny. I lived in Wood Green at the time and can't really remember any of this. It did catch my attention though when one of the opening lines was about there having been a burglary in Wood Green.
My goodness, everyone is smoking !!! You don’t see that often these days. I missed the first part but I am watching part two. Very interesting
Superb! Tennant is excellent, as are Daniel Mays and Jason Watkins.
It is good, I remember it because we lived in Melrose Avenue.
Nilsen was a total ass in later life. he seemed to think he was something special and the affected intelligence was largely an act.
I never knew him.
Recording it, not yet watched - I can imagine David Tennant doing the role well.
I think you will love it. It's not as gruesome as it might have been, though not too many laughs, of course.
David Tennant is superb in it.
Well done!
"Nilsen was a total ass in later life....." That's the trouble with serial killers. Not many redeeming features :-/
Read on-line that Daniel Mays had nightmares about being alone in the same room as Nilsen.
how much of this is true
have just seen a senior officer have a paddy because a victim MAY be related to important people

so easy - - say he is not a victim !
// I remember it because we lived in Melrose Avenue.//
and did you see him dragging young men .....

we once lodged in Alameida Rd where Kenneth Halliwell butchered Joe Orton
I was disappointed with the first episode. I thought David Tennant would have played the part better. Hopefully the second part will improve.
odd that he asked to be called Des when his name was Dennis? having said that, he was odd wasn't he?

I think Des was his 'alter ego'. Apparently, according to Brian Masters, "Judging by letters left on the ground floor for 'Des Nilsen', they assumed his name was Desmond."
