The Club is now Open.

Welcome once again to the Mad over Fifties Club for a night of unalloyed pleasure.
No doubt there will be at least one ode, lots of delicious comestibles and sufficient alcohol to float a battleship.
And that's before we get on to the excellent conversation , witty repartee and the holy grail of all club events, the drawing of the raffle.

Tonight's prizes so far include:

two rain mates (pink spotty ones)
a packet of Fishermen's Friends
a pair of flip flops, one orange, one green (totally non-sectarian )
and
a loofah

Lekker Slaap. Totsiens.
Goodnight all - club needs to close early for urgent maintenance in the wine cellar department, travel safely and convene same place and time next week.
so sorry. forgot to apologise in advance and advise you that i will not be able to attend the party next saturday i'll be visiting my youngest and we will, no doubt, be playing blonde scrabble with the rest of the family instead.

i hope you all have your normal wonderful and enjoyable time.
do you ever have a special night for the 75-year olds please?
Question Author
There is no upper age limit in this club, so over 75 year olds are most welcome.
We do not, however, allow in residents of the Home for the Bewildered which is sited next door. (There have been Incidents.)
Do come along next Saturday and join in the fun. It's good if you can bring raffle prizes, but not obligatory.
:-))
Banffer....Lord you have to tell me............what happens to seventy five year olds on special nights? The mind boggles.

You said you wouldn`t mention the Incidents again LadyA and once again I am sorry.
Question Author
That's quite all right, gness. Consider your part in the Incident forgotten.
Felt I had to offer a bit of an explanation to Banffer.
Worry not, the full details will remain confidential.
I thought I heard noises as I sat in the scullery crocheting dishcloths, everyone alright??
Thank you. The cheque is in the post.
Oh, how exciting! I don't get out much so I will stick a Post-it note on the front door to remind me. My driver has a sat-nav thingy but I believe he needs to know the post code for your wonderful residence. I'll knit you some place-mats if you like?
Perfect

Banffer...those knitted place mats get you in without a reference.
Looking forward to seeing you next week.

I've heard that one before, gness. Just turn up with the cash on Saturday.
Don't worry Gness - when you get to 75 all the others in the group will initiate you.
Is Banffer a synonym for a Canadian Cliff. As long as his surname is not Richards.
everyone.

guess what -- banffer is my mother.
well that explains it, excelsior; say no more; Welcome his Mum! He does get out of hand you know......do keep him in check (not cheque)
