I think it may have been Edgar Allan Po.

Proud Laa-Laa Star,
In marvel Jokes column glory afar,
And dearer your volty offering shall be;
For joy to an AB heart
Is the cupid proud part
Thou bearest in the middle of the GMEB night,
And more folk admire, ozzies on higher
Thy distant arksided fire,
Than that colder, lowly patsy light.
