Albert Bichot Viré-Clessé 2011 13%

'Tis the season to be jolly and splash out a few more pennies on a special bottle of vino.

This beautiful Grand Vin De Bourgogne is literally bursting with almond and buttery flavours leading to complex citrus and minerality on the finish. Dry, full and well-rounded and reputedly "among the finest white enclaves in the Mâcconais", the Viré-Clessé is a wine to enjoy with rich creamy chicken and pasta dishes or even roast guinea fowl.

Available in M&S for the normal price of £10.99.

Merry Christmas. X

I sometime wonder why I bother...
Bought mine today: Majestic

Cloudy Bay Pelorus Rosé (£20)
Ch Labegorce Margaux 2000 (£27)
Ch Bourgneuf Pomerol 2004 (£24)
Tokaji 5 Puttenyos 08 (£20)
Ch Picard St Éstephe 2004 (£9-95)

Sorely tempted by a Ch Angludet 04 @£33 http://www.drinkfinder.co.uk/ (which is some 20 miles from here....)
Never mind NoM - have a drop of this lovely Borsao Campo de Borja Reserva 2008.

One of the best value reds around at the moment - brilliant with a roast dinner or just the job with some nice cheese and chutney.

Love the sound of the Cloudy Bay, DT. X
Yesterday got G.H. Mumm Cordon Rouge 2002 Brut Millesime £24.99 Sainsburys - a bargain.
Have had the white and that was amazing, thought my mother would appreciate the rosé (and the rest of us an apero). My sis is sitting on some excellent petaillant from a local vignobler in Provence as well, so she says.....Will revert just after Xmas.
Might have a crafty swerve into Majestic - the standard Pelorus is very good, so the Rose does sound interesting ...
My thoughts exactly, dave; a penny change out of a purple note.
But does it taste good?
the white is really good, daisy.....better than most Champagnes..
Thanks DT. Too expensive.
