Morrisons The Best Valpolicella Ripasso 2009 13%

A robust and concentrated red with hypnotic aromas red fruits, dark chocolate and a hint of toffee, leading to rich flavours of red cherries and mocha on the palate. This gorgeous Italian number has silky, soft tannins, oodles of finesse and superb length. Try with soft, creamy cheeses such as brie or mascarpone, or a warm goats cheese and toasted hazelnut salad.

Available for the normal price of £7.29.

NoM - that sounds lovely. Will it go with my chip butty?
Will have to wait. When my woman got back from her folks she was not in the mood for wine, so we had a small glass of some blueberry liqueur she's bought. And tonight we went out. Next weekend maybe.

You could always try it and let us know, Mrs O.

:-)
Finally got to try this Sunday, and was very impressed. It has all the fruit flavour promised and very little of the aftertaste at the back of the throat that often accompanies some reds. I'm unsure what I can add that has not already been said, except to say I'd recommend it at the price to anyone who wants a good sipping wine. And it need not be accompanied by anything, I tried it on its own.
