Can any of you remember some home remedies for cramp in calves at night? Asking for my sister. I remember reading something, somebody suggested and I thought I would pass this information on. Its gone out of my head. Thanks. :-)

tonic water?

Thanks Canary & bookbinder for links.
I did suggest tonic water, Mallyh. That's the only one I could think of, & bananas.
I know there was something else, somebody suggested, but it won't come to me!

I sometimes get it as I'm getting up, I've found that by bending my feet upwards, tightening the muscles in the calves it goes away quite quickly with no after effects.
Works for me anyway.

I find standing on a cold floor, or putting my foot on a cold wall helps.
calmag zinc tablets or liquid.
The salt in plain crisps is meant to reduce cramp.
When I get cramp I just slowly get my legs straight and pain goes.
doris isn't going to let me eat a bag of crisps in bed at 2am ...

You're meant to eat them before going to bed.
Celery is meant to help.
For me, instant help comes from a few grains of Himalayan pink salt on my tongue. Cramp just...goes.

Thanks for all your replies. I've passed them on to my sister.
One a day magnesium tablets. I suffered cramp in my feet and legs forever ... but three years down the line - sorted.
Vitamins, one zinc, one potassium, one magnesium. Take for three to four days. Works for my wife and I, every time.
