I've been getting cramp in my feet & calves an awful lot lately & last nights episode was sooo painful.

I was sitting watching tv with my feet up on the coffee table & wham - the pain was so intense.

Does anyone else suffer with this?

Thanks all - I have had cramp in my feet before & usually walk into the kitchen & stand on the cold floor for a while, but this time it was in my calves & was really, really painful. I didn't know what to do, apart from yelp until it stopped!

If it happens for much longer, I'll take a trip to the doc's, ta.
Cant help, just popped in to say hiya, so ermmm, hiya Smudge!!

xxxx
When we were working in hot climes we used to take salt tablets as low sodium levels can cause cramp (especially the calves) Also low potassium, eat lots of bananas smudge. If you've been sweating a lot and also cutting down on your salt intake that could do it
There is still quinine in tonic water. Read the list of contents to make sure. This happened to me a couple of years ago and I asked the pharmacist in Boots for advice. She suggested a glass of tonic water each night, (gin optional!) and it worked brilliantly within a few days. I now probably drink it a couple of times a week and have no problems.
hic Valanne, what a great excuse for a G&T tipple.....Tanqueray 50-50 lots of ice and a squeeze and slice of lime in mine please.
When you get cramp in your calf raise your leg and massage it as quickly as you can to loosen the muscle. It's better if someone can do it for you.
I like lime in mine too, DT, and as you say a great excuse - it's purely medicinal!

Thank you all again for your very helpful answers.

Funnily enuff, even tho' it's been quite cold, I have been sweating a bit (not smelly), but put it down to not being at all well over the w/end,

I shall have a tipple of tonic water tonight (minus the gin, lol) & hope for less or no cramps. I also love bananas, so will partake tomorrow! Many thanks.

Hi BOO - always nice to see your name on here. You really did make me laugh on the 'stiff legs' thread. Love ya little quips! ♥
tonic water of an evening. maybe take potassium supplement tablets.
I get it in my calf when I wake sometimes, worst pain I've ever had, and so hard to straighten leg as you feel you're going to rip your muscle in two. I tend to get it when I have been drinking.
