There seems to be a lot of road closures in my area of Norfolk at the moment. Road improvements and new housing estates are being built. Is it nationwide?.

Terrible round my way, extensive building, new roads being built, new tram/light railway and roadworks/closures everywhere

I have just been talking about this with my family.  It seems that every time we go out we are met with temporary traffic lights for road works or gas works.

No, it's not unique to Norfolk.

I've got an idea that is going to make me rich.

I'm going into the temporary traffic light trade.

Someone beat you to it, Hoppy.

I was told the more temporary road works are due to councils using up their budget before the end of the financial year. There are thousands of houses being built near us resulting in roads being closed for weeks at a time. So no it's not just Norfolk William

You drive on an autoroute in France on a holiday and you never see a traffic cone or rarely a diversion.I have no idea when they repair potholes but you don't often find them.

I was beginning to wonder the same thing William. I had to set a really convoluted route to make sure I got to my dentist in Norwich on time last week.

Norfolk County Council had a massive grant from government last year for infrastructure. Needless to say it's created a huge amount of inconvenience for little gain. A bus or cycle lane here and a roundabout there.

Plus we have all the utilities going in for the excessive growth in housing.

And Norwich wonders why it has no shoppers - it's driving us online. Rant over! Stay safe, stay indoor!
