Motorists are annoyed about a diversion during rail bridge repairs.

Kharma - there are well over a thousand bridge strikes by road vehicles every year on the UK Rail Network, many of which cause rail closures and significant disruption to passengers.

there’s no suggestion the condition of the bridge is due to anything other than it’s age, and deterioration arising - it’s certainly not been struck by road vehicles recently…..

There is a far shorter alternative via Dobbs Weir and Lower Nazeing which locals will be familiar with. Not suitable for anything much bigger than a Transit van, but will suit the majority of vehicles that would otherwise use the B194.
