OH has just given me a card to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Very nice of him and a lovely card but apart from thanking him and saying how pleased I am think I will stay quiet about it. He obviously grabbed the first one he saw as the card is the kind you send to a couple on their wedding day to congratulate them on their wedding.

What would you do under these circumstances?

I did just thank him but I would have been really impressed if he had thought to get a bunch of flowers. He did remember to get himself some steak (I can't eat meat - it's a digestive thing) so I suppose he thought about the day.
Happy Wedding Anniversary LJ
(albeit a tad late)

Mens brains are just wired differently, I know this but still live in hope :-)
What would you do under these circumstances?

I probably wouldn't notice.
The answer is simple

Send him
divorce papers
Smile and say ‘ you remembered, thank you ‘
I haven't done that yet Bazile, but MrJ2 has never yet sent me a Valentine's day card - and is always puzzled when I give him a card with something red on it - sports car, robin etc.. The other year he went into one of his 'moods' (rare and I think they are some sort of depressive thing, lost daughter, wife and never knew his father so every so often he shuts down for a couple of days, poor love) 2 days before our wedding anniversary. I kept my card handy in case he snapped out of it, but it was the day after before he did. So he never got it. He was horrified when he discovered what he'd done and rushed me out to dinner etc., etc. a day too late. :)
I do not believe in Valentines cards , we’ve never sent them, they mean nothing at all, anniversary yes , that means something
YMB - // Us men dont usually pay much attention to cards, we dont mean anything by it it is just the way we are. //

Speak for yourself!!
I think you've done exactly the right thing.

His heart was in the right place - just his vision that was off-kilter, but what's to be gained by pointing that out?
If it was me or my wife doing the same thing we'd both point it out to each other and have a good laugh about it, but if you think your OH would be upset if you told him then don't tell him.
well, obviously, go out and marry someone.
I grabbed a card for my daughter's birthday with the message You've been like a daughter to me. Whoops!
