A few of my clients this morning have almost been frozen solid. (Bit of an over exaggeration).
It's -5 today out ere.. Hoping to reach 2 degrees by luncheon. i'm not really working, it's near impossible but still doing my rounds.
Just letting people know / maybe reminding / opening up the idea to check on your elderly neighbours in this Baltic weather. They usually have a stock pile of biscuits and goodies so also take deep pockets.
have phoned to check and now got 2 shopping lists from neighbours..80+... ! one has a coal fire, so will fill his bucket and leave on his back step....
My wife and I qualify as elderly. We live on an estate, quite close to our neighbours. We see these reminders, from time to time, about younger people checking on their elderly neighbours, so we say to each other, "Listen out for the doorbell. We'll have a queue of neighbours lining up to assure themselves that we are in good health, and have everything that we need to survive the cold weather." But we are still waiting.
-7 here this morning so when I came home at lunch I took some soup bread and eggs to some old folk that live in the village had to have a sleep as they fed me some gin!
