Just love this. Watch it every day.
Getting into the tactics.
Wish I had taken this up as a young man and made it a lifetime hobby.
Froome and Thomas vying for the overall GC win.
Scenery and commentary just great and so interesting with the history of the landmarks.
Anybody else hooked?

OH is, he used to cycle a lot.
We're always amused by the number of people who take the trouble to go up into the mountains to watch the Tour pass by and then turn to wave at the helicopter camera and miss the race.
The police mucked that up.....!
Stage 17 tomorrow should be fun...Only 65K and a Grand Prix type start...How will the grid start work on stage 17 of the Tour de France? - Cycling Weekly http://po.st/UCEjlo via @cyclingweekly
I remember telling "She who must be obeyed" that Geraint Thomas was a very talented rider about 8 years ago. Now "she" is more Welsh than Owain Glyndwr and has had no interest in the bicycle race ever, at all, not even when they fall off. Somewhat different this time. Avid follower now and seeking updates and goings on morning, noon, and night. Thomas deserves the win if he gets it, he has been the water carrier for the Sky Team for years.
yep I'm an addict! watch it every year, love it, love the tactics the traditions the terminology, the whole thing.
After the restarts and the attacks on Froomy etc, you mean the Tour de Farce.
Me too. It's worth it for the panoramic shots of the mountains, even if one doesn't like cycling :-)
Nothing to what used to go on DTC ... :-)
one restart cos of a dopey plod? that's all DTC, the firesides love having a go at Frome that's nowt new.

I'll accept it was those Dutch dykes who tried...and they don't even have a mountain, not one Hugh Grant would go up to be filmed on.
Geraint Thomas is almost home and hosed. He is 2 minutes+ up on his nearest rival with just the time trial tomorrow. He himself is an excellent time trialist, having begun his cycling career as a track cyclist so barring a puncture or similar disaster. I have just watched the last hour of todays leg and it was a great effort by him.
Yep, love it. I got into it a bit late - during the Indurain years - and enjoyed researching what I had missed. I had my own MAMIL phase in the early 90's too.

I could have written that!
Yes regrets for not taking it up as a young man.
Into the tactics and as you say, scenery and history just brilliant . Love it. Tha Spanish Vuelta should be next in a few weeks.

Oh gosh it was ME who wrote that! Age!
Believe it or not, I was a bit of a bikist in the late 70s when on my health and fitness trip. Used to cycle all up and down the Llyn Peninsular, Cardigan Bay coast road and all around Coed Y Brennin and the Machynleth area. Even got some embarrassing pictures somewhere to remind me.
