Only the religious can answer it - but we’ve not had much luck yet roadman. Becauae that’s the way God says it is is no justification for torturing people for eternity.
Go and find a priest to help you with your answers im sure they can help you
:o)
I find it rather ironic that those who have attempted to justify it have demonstrated themselves to be amongst us the most worthy of hell.
quite right mibn, it was the self righteous smugness that turned me against religion, they think they know it all when in reality they know very little and can prove even less.
Thanks for your judgmental replies, Naomi; I would have expected nothing less.
The question has been answered multiple times- but because some don't like the answer given, they have to keep asking it.
Me judgmental? You should have gone into comedy, spungle. See you in hell. :o)

Both my parents, according to christian theology (Catholic or otherwise) are now subject to eternal, unimaginable, pain and suffering.
I lost my father 20 yrs ago and still miss his unconditional love for me and my siblings. My Mom, I buried just 4 months ago. She was the most self sacrificing individual that I know.
The pair of them were the epitome of sacrifice for others.
(Not just for their children either)
But both are now (apparantly) been tortured in God's Loving Eternal Torture Chamber because they were non believers....
And you want me to worship....for eternety...the being that is holding my parents in an eternal torture chamber?

Are you people sick? Do You need a psychiatrist?
Where else in life would you get away with this way of thinking except religion?
Bonkers!
(And sick)

Anyone reading the above post,
Run like hell from a priest...
It appears you do not (or don't wish to) believe in hell. Answers to your question have been given, simply, from the Bible.
If you have made the decision to reject the Bible as truth, why does the concept of hell bother you? Why should other people believe as you do, and when we don't get accused of being sick and needing a psychiatrist? If you don't want answers to your questions, why post in the first place?
Stableford, this is not about what we believe, we're asking those who do believe in hell to justify it. So far, nobody has, it seems strange people are not able or willing to justify something they believe in.
Vulcan- have you read the comments above yours? There are numerous justifications for hell, simply explained.

Stableford

//It appears you do not (or don't wish to) believe in hell//
Just asking you to justify such a monsterous doctrine.

//Answers to your question have been given//
LOL, Yeah right!

//If you have made the decision to reject the Bible as truth//
Havnt made any DECISION. Just evalliuate the facts.

//why does the concept of hell bother you???
Like to know where my mum and dad are. Does that bother you?
It seems that when you state your belief, Stableford, and justify it by the truth of the Bible, these people get quite tetchy. Anyone who has a difference of opinion with them is 'sick' etc, and it's we who are apparently the judgmental ones ;) The obvious hypocrisy is beyond parody.
Stableford, I've read people describing it, that is not justifying it.
alleluia!
completely radio!
//It appears you do not (or don't wish to) believe in hell//
Just asking you to justify such a monsterous doctrine."
Well, clearly, as a Christian, I dont believe it is monstrous whatsoever. The only monstrous thing is that hell is completely avoidable (because of God's sacrifice) and yet many choose to reject it.

//Answers to your question have been given//
LOL, Yeah right!" They clearly aren't the answers you wanted, or hoped for. It's a pity- yet there's still time for us to repent.

//If you have made the decision to reject the Bible as truth//
Havnt made any DECISION. Just evalliuate the facts." In that case, my apologies. I had jumped to the conclusion you were an atheist, not an agnostic. If that was a wrong interpretation, my apologies.

//why does the concept of hell bother you???
Like to know where my mum and dad are. Does that bother you?" I understand how you must feel- I have lost one of my parents recently too. But, its not for you or I to judge where they will spend eternity- that is between them and God. My responsibility is for my own salvation. And who knows what goes on between the soul and God in the last moments? The dying thief on the cross being a prime example. It doesnt sound like he had led a blameless or selfless life, yet he was blessed with eternal salvation because He didnt attempt to justify his history (how could he?) But simply accepted the work of Jesus- 'Remember me Lord.' We have all sinned, and come short of His glory- thank God that Jesus came to save sinners. Millions have turned to Him, even on their death-bed. If we accept Him as Saviour, we have nothing to fear. What greater love could a Man have than to lay down His life for His friends? Still; I dont know if any of this helps, but sincerely wish you all the best with your seeking.
Vulcan- Hell is God's just judgment against sin. We know what His feelings about sin are- it cost Him to sacrifice His only Son, to save an otherwise ruined race. If God was to allow persons who continue sinning to enter into eternal salvation, this woulf make a mockery of sin. Sin has consequences. I doubt you will view any of this as justification, but hope it helps you to perhaps understand the Christian viewpoint.
