//Sin has consequences.//

Believing without justification has consequences, life long consequences, not least of which is upon your ability to reason.
Your ability.

Stableford, you say as a Christian you don’t find the concept of hell monstrous. What about condemning any human being to eternal torment isn’t monstrous? Tell me.
Stableford, thank you for offering an explanation, unfortunately It doesn't justify such a monstrous concept.
I have one question, Why, if your God who is all seeing, all knowing creator of the universe have to sacrifice his son because of sin? God either created sin or endowed man, whom he also created, with the ability to be sinful. Killing his only son when your God could have dealt with sin in a myriad of other ways seems an ungodlike way of dealing with it.
Imagine a little toddler.

He has sinned.
(He covetted another little boys toy. He stole it. When challenged he lied about it.)

He then catches a dreadful disease, and dies.

Does he go to hell because of his sins? He never repented, or committed his life to Jesus.
Theland?
Naomi: "Stableford, you say as a Christian you don’t find the concept of hell monstrous. What about condemning any human being to eternal torment isn’t monstrous? Tell me." Yes, Naomi- I believe I have already told you. Hell is a just punishment- it's God's righteous anger against sin, and the rejection of Jesus. As I said earlier- the monstrous thing is that some are choosing to needlessly go there rather than accept God's free offer of mercy and forgiveness. Now you've been told again.
Stableford, I see you haven't replied to my question, but that doesn't surprise me. when you first posted on this thread I thought here was a reasonable person but you are no better than the rest. You seem content that some people will spend eternity - not a couple of years, not ten, not a billion, not a hundred billion but eternity, being punished. Christianity seems to be based on revenge and punishment, I thought the devil represented evil now I'm not so sure, your God offers " love and adore me or spend eternity in torment" and you think that's not only acceptable but essential. I find this concept totally abhorrent.
He hasn’t answered my question either, Vulcan. His answers are nothing but avoidance and render him utterly devoid of moral principle. Clearly created in his God’s image.

Anyone with an ounce of compassion, humanity or (dare I say it)..love ..in their being will see through the hatred that is evangelical christianity through the posts of Stableford and others.
Thank you.

Your own hell is in your own hearts.
Nailit, a compassionate and just god wouldn’t recognise these people. Their cruelty knows no bounds. Give yourself best answer.
I find it utterly bizarre that I am being accused of hatred and cruelty, simply for explaining basic Christian beliefs. I have patiently and repeatedly attempted to answer these people but, as they don't like the answers given, either accuse me of not answering- just scroll up and read my answers, or write my views off with badly-chosen vitriolic insults. I have not a grain of hatred or cruelty in my heart for anyone, least of all for idiots- I feel sympathy and pity for your lack of understanding and will pray that your eyes may be opened. In the meantime, have a good look at your own behaviour and see if it mirrors what you accuse me of. None of you have any clue whatsoever what type of person I am; except that I am a Christian who believes in the truths of the Bible. And if you can't be tolerant of that, God help you.
What was that about protesting too much, stableford? I think your reader has the gist of your beliefs.
I trust so, Naomi, because it appears that several are declaring me as some sort of immoral, discompassionate character, simply for explaining Christianity. They might not like it- which is a shame, as their eternal destiny depends on it. Best wishes.
Stableford, you have wandered into a den of ego massaging atheists who consider their morals higher than the God who created them.
Get used to the vilification, they are only warming up.
You’ve certainly exposed your beliefs, stableford.... and more.
My morals are higher than your God’s, theland.
Yes, I had gathered that- a morass of superior, high-minded self-aggrandising humanistic ninnies- confounding each other with their fake outrage that sin has eternal consequences, and gasping in 'moral compassion' while departing (with fingers in their ears) you arent answering the question!!! No, you told us the answer, but we didnt like it, your answer is monstrous wah wah wah. Instead of behaving like the responsible adults capable of a rational conversation. I might try arguing with a pile of bricks tomorrow, I might make more progress.
Condemning human beings to
eternal torment is monstrous.
