That what I said I haven't know him long

Should you consider being honest? Yes!

Question Author

If the guy doesn't pay for meal tomorrow do I give him another date?

Why should he pay?

Question Author

Maybe it's old days but isn't man meant to pay

No

In today's world of equality, no he's NOT meant to pay.

YOU offer to pay half and see how it goes.

Don't 'use' him or the 'relationship' won't last long!

I agree with RH and captain2 - you are in the early stages of getting to know each other and should contribute equally

Jesus when was the old days?

we split the bill when we started dating in 1989!

Abbey, it's 2024!  'If he doesn't pay, do I give him another date?' sounds truly awful - is he only worthy of your company if he pays for you?!

He might not have a lot of money, split the costs.

I don't think I've heard of a man is supposed to pay for dinner since I was a child. I gather we have to accept your naivety.

Does he know about your issues?

If you don't agree to a third date, if he wants one, you will be desperate again and probably go back to the dog man.

Split the bill and then you won't feel that you owe him anything and he won't think he's entitled to something.

Equal footing.

What sort of meal do the two of you go for?  Pub or posh restaurant?  I'd offer to "go Dutch" unless I knew he was rolling in money😃

Red@18:54...I think Abbey means the new guy.

Which new guy?
bloke 1 = 1 date

bloke 2 = a potential date

neither is a relationship

Oh, Hazel - forgot that one; written by Terry Venables?

^^^ Errr, obviously wrong thread!

Question Author
