I doubt he really want them to swear allegiance to Russia; more like allegiance to Putin.
If they'd had allegiance to Russia they'd not have called off that attempt to remove the mafia-like dregs at the Kremlin for the sake of the Russian people (and their neighbours).
Putin will settle for “Please don’t kill me in retaliation.”
Wagner are only interested in money. If there is no profit in it, Wagner wouldn’t be bothered.
If the CIA diverted some of the hundreds of millions $s it is giving Ukraine, and put a nounty on Putin’s head, that might be a sufficient incentive :-)
The only problem with assassinating Putin is that there's another murderous psychopath waiting to "make Russia great again" through corruption and thuggery.
An idea he got from Charles III.
erm yes or no
it is a big thing for some - to swear allegiance to a person - The Brits do it without turning a hair.
The Poles fought bravely for King George...
others do it to a thing - american flag and or allegiance - and find it a big jump to do it for a person. - - this is a big issue if you naturalise ( er north) to a Canadian.
Godwin's Law
I am surprised that no one has pointed out that Hitler demanded a personal oath of allegiance from the army officers in.... oo 1935
and there was a lot of umming and ahhing
This is allegiance to the Russian state.
These people are all neo-Nazis (it’s no coincidence that the group is called Wagner) and ultra patriotic. So depending how it’s worded the oath may be meaningless from the point of view of loyalty.
And as I indicated earlier Russians swearing anything is not worth the air or paper it uses.
Biden called Putin a murderous thug. I guess that makes two. When Biden took down Osama Bin Laden he also killed his wife and half his family and then dropped Osama's body into the sea.
It was Obama not Biden who rid the world of the terrorist Bin Laden.
If you are going to troll at least get your facts right.
Meanwhile in the real world Ukrainian forces are close to a major breakthrough in Zaporizhzhya region, pushing south towards Tokmak and Melitopol.
