Puff, puff.....

The Club is now Open

Welcome again to all who enter.

Tonight's talk is to be given by a mystery speaker who has promised to show us slides of their holidays in the UK and abroad.
The equipment and chairs have been set up in the big sitting-room upstairs .
Clearly an event not to be missed.

So far for tonight's raffle , I have

5 green bottles
5 eggs (sell by 12th May 2012)
5 spice powder ( half a pack)

Your ladyship, what a scandalous suggestion.
You can't help being spectacularly lucky.
The fact that you sell the tickets, fold the tickets and then draw the tickets (in private behind a locked door) is pure coincidence IMHO
My old mum used to swear by her 'lucky purple drawers' for Bingo & Roffling ... I am too delicate to ask if others have similarly auspicious accoutrements ...
The iceberg is fine milady. It was 100 years old last month.I am going to put a piece of it in my flagon.

Modesty forbids that I reveal the colour of my lucky undergarments...suffice it to say that, should there be a requirement to stop a train on the nearby railway line, I would have no difficulty in flagging.

I knew that you would understand, Mrs O.

Did you throw it a party, PB ? Or were you afraid that the candles might melt it ?
I didn't realise we had guest speakers.
If you are ever let down, I can do a short 1 hour talk and slide show entitled "How to Tell Right from Left Using a Snooker Ball for Illustration"
Question Author
You'd be all right for cake frosting, though...boom boom!
You're flagging, m'lady.

I mean - your flagon, m'lady..
Question Author
You're booked, Mrs O...two week's time suit you ?

Or if tonight's mystery speaker is a no -show, perhaps you could extemporise tonight ?
Question Author
Thank you , LiK. Your buttling is , as always, excellent.
Hope it isn't a lotto ball, I need a tenner tonight.
I believe that the old 'cue ball in the marigold' trick is still used by some of the rougher wenches in our Northern Fishing Ports ...
I would be delighted and honoured your ladyship.

For your future reference I also do a riveting talk on

"Seaweeds of the British Isles"
Question Author
I'm trying not to think too much about that, Sunny.... it's a difficult image to get out of my head, though...
Question Author
Is there no end to your talents, Mrs O ?
I'm sure we would love a talk on Seaweeds..as long as you promise not to bring samples along
We loaded it with bears, food and drink and floated it out into the channel and let it drift among the shipping lanes. Oh what fun we had.
Tailcocks, tailcocks! Get 'em while they're Moony (oh-oh), they're lovely!
Good evening one and all ! I would welcome a small titfer of moonkist and luckily I don't like Gin.
For the riffle I would like to proffer:-
6 back-copies of The Spectator
2 x packs of gummed paper strips (for the making of paper chains)
1 Life Jacket (only slightly perished)
and
2 jars of home-made Fig Conserve (a very moving experience)
I'm wearing the duffle coat tonight so hide it wherever you will.
ah Duffel coats....sigh
Another tailcock would be welcome as I sample some broth and a volly vont. Wonderful evening, I shall away to the sitting room and await the speaker.
