and no, I wasn't eaves-dropping, she was chatting loudly to another woman.
'She' is a young mum, maybe early 20's and was complaining loudly to her mate about how she was expected to drop her son off at his dad's place for his 3 days and promptly then went on to *** off his mum, dad and other relatives.

I wish I'd had the nerve to tell her to keep her voice down - you never know who heard the comments.

Would you have said anything?

Sadly an every day occurrence Alba, usually on a mobile phone.
I've known that happen. There were a couple of ladies behind me at a till once loudly gossiping about "the Conways" and naming their road. After a while, I turned and said "it's the Conroys...". They went very quiet!
No, I wouldn't have said anything. You could be inviting hassle that you can do without, and, besides, in a few minutes you'll be well away from such people.
im surprised she got a word in.....(legs it) x
i probably wouldn't of said anything, but it does annoy me, esp people who talk really loudly on their mobiles whilst on public transport.

the *** are a heap of a coal hill :-)
alternatively, dis-respecting.

Have no idea how old child is, but she was having a good old moan about having to take child to his dad's for a 3 day visit.

Pix ! oh my! I bet they did lol

Maggie, when I was stood outside shop, waiting for taxi, she came out of shop with her mate and she was still complaining
(I think I'd have clocked her one by that time, mate or not!)

Bookie xx

I know, you are right, but to be so rude and so loud in doing it, makes me shudder.

Cuddlyone, it was her mate who couldn't get a word in lol x
I was coming back from Norwich on the bus, a woman having a 'conversation' about 8 rows in front graphically describing the previous night's coupling, someone obviously looked at her and she yelled 'You f@@@@@@ mind your own business, shouldn't listen to someone's private conversation' at which point I started to laugh and the rest of the top deck joined in, not a happy bunny.

Fluff, I 'love' the ones where the mobile rings and we're all greeted with 'I'm on the bus/train' comment.
I usually mutter, yes, and so are the rest of the passengers :-)

Zebo, I lurve that!! xx
on the train back from the office the other day, there was a lady using rather fruity language... didn't shock me but i did wonder about her lack of respect for the people around her, one lady in particular visibly flinched every time she uttered the "c" word, which was quite often.... i have neighbours who can be very loud and they have a son who I think maybe a bit of a handful, judging by the rows i get to hear!
One day i'm going to say something!
there was someone along from me on the train last night bellowing really loudly into his phone. What was worse was that it was in a foreign language so I couldn't even listen in to what he was saying :-(
Question Author
water pistol for the neighbours and the son Fluff :-)
I've told you before.....if a man on a train or bus is talking loudly into his phone you just lean your head near him and say loudly.....

For goodness sake, darling....put down that phone and get back into bed with me...... ;-)
Question Author

now, if darling were the one to take clothes to dry-cleaners or do the washing, just hope he destroyed the plane tickets before darling got to them. :-)))
I usually join in to be honest.....

The worst thing about shopping in Waitrose is that conversations at the till are more focussed on what they are going to replace the out of stock artichoke hearts with :-(
