I hate some Pakistanis, yet I respect, admire and like my local newsagent and his family. I also hate some white English people, ie the mothers of 13 year old dads etc. Am I still a White English racist ?
Some of your friends are Pakistanis. Glad to know that. When you say you are proud to be white, does that not suggest that you would NOT be proud to be some other colour? If that's not so , what other colour would you be proud to be, and why?
why cant people catagorise there liking and hating without bringing the colour and creed into it? if you dont get on with someone isnt it more down to personality than the appearance?
I'm Yorkshire and my father was from the Shelands - s0dding vikings got everywhere!!

Fred. I didn't say they were my friends, only acquantaces. And yes, if I were some other colour I WOULD be oroud of my race.

cazz. You are getting near the nub of the question. It is individuals we hate, not races, creeds, colours etc. and we should all be proud of who we are; and if we happen to feel superior in some way, ie in technological knowledge, to, say the pigmies of Patagonia ( if there are any) wht's the harm in that ?
there is no harm in feeling proud of your achievements or your heritage, its got nothing to do with colour or race, unfortunately some people take this the wrong way.
In answer to the statement If you believe you are superior to anyone who is not English or not white then yes, you are a racist you replied OK I feel equal to any race on earth. And better than most ! That last comment of yours was racist

Good God, i have never read such drivel in my life, i am white English and proud of it, if that makes me a racist then this country has gone to the dogs,
Are you proud of being white because white people are technological superior 'to pigmies in Patagonia' ? . Our technological superiority has nothing to do with you personally, does it? Or your parents? So why be proud of something which has nothing to do with you ? What reasoning is it that makes you proud because you are racially similar to someone who was a genius? Are you equally ashamed to be, by the same token, of the same race as white people who have committed mass murder or extermination? Or is it a one way assessment?

It's natural to think like you do.It makes you feel better, to think that you happen, by genetic accident, to be the same colour as a lot of clever people. It doesn't make any sense and it can lead to a lot of ill, as history shows. There are plenty of black people who have been geniuses, but I don't know whether you feel inferior to them. I forgot: you'd be proud, you say, to be some other colour Would black or brown do, or would you prefer oriental (lot of technologically advanced orientals)And what would be the sense in that?
Blimy fred, if i was black i would be black English and proud of it, get a life and stop trying to complicate an otherwise simple fact of life.
Can someone tell me how an Englishman can be racist against a Scotsman? We are all british aren't we? You can only be racist against someone from a different race, surely?
The Court of Session ruled in 2001 that Scots and the English have separate national origins and the 1976 Race Relations Act applies in racial discrimination cases between Scots and the English.
Blimey, I just ambled along to have a look at this post. In answer to your original question derekpara, if you are, then so am I! Dont some people get angry over an imagined concept, we should all just be proud of who we are.

There is a big difference in being proud of being English and white and thinking that merely because you happened to be born that way you are better than those who were not.
dot.hawkes

we all know about the vikings, but like i said, that was a while ago, we are talking in the last 200 years!

Blimey Dot, 200 years seems a while ago to me, as it did to my father and his father before him.

Regarding feeling superior, I feel my country is superior to most on this planet, as do apparently all those who flock here to settle.

I feel superior to those who gun down and stab others on our streets.

I feel that my local soccer team is superior to others.

No this word 'Racist' is pandered about by some to stifle free discussion on matters of immigration and the acceptance of destroying the very cultural identity of this country.

Now if that makes me a racist to some, then so be it. There are many on this site who are quick to call others racists, but these are the most racist.

Take for example this recent quote from jno:

why would anyone be proud to be white?

Now turn this around to: 'why would anyone be proud to be black'?

The keyboards around the country would be over heating to type out the word 'RACIST'

Incidently Mohammad Ali thought he was superior to anyone.

'Morning, all. Going well isn't it ?

Welcome, and nice one, AOG.

Cazz. I think we are heading towards a conclusion here and your balanced view is refreshing.
Fred. On jungle training (sorry about this) I thought we were light years ahead of the local tribesmen, then I realised how SUPERIOR they were to me in survival, tracking, spatial awareness etc etc. So where is the racism through feelings of 'superiority' ?

I am white, English and proud of it. I would be equally proud if I were a green person from outer space. Now, am I still a racist ?

Sadly, I have hated people of many creeds and colours, including Pale Faces (racist remark ?) but usually because they were out to do me some damage.

Some people choose to attack posters rather than join in what I hope is a philosophical debate. Shame. Attitudes are changed through debate, not attack or deportation.

So as I say, I am white, English and British, and proud of it. If that makes me a racist then so be it; I am still proud of the fact.
Well surely only you would know if you are a racist.

I'm not sure being proud to be a certain race is relevant. You may as well say you are proud to be human.

I guess I am proud just because of the way I have turned out and progressed in life, against the odds. My race is irrelevent.
