Not so, davebro, but you've picked your side and that's fine.
//I'll probably never be a Boris fan but I did find the booing a bit disrespectful given the occasion.//

There was a big cheer for Harry and Meghan .

There was also some booing .

So how many here think the booing was disrespectful ?
Me.

The occasion wasn’t about the PM and his wife or the Markles - it was about the Queen, so booing had absolutely zero place.
>>> it was about the Queen, so booing had absolutely zero place

If it was about the so-called Queen, I would suggest that chanting of a string of four-letter words would have been far more appropriate. I'd have happily orchestrated it.
I'm sure there are places in the world with less freedom of expression and more use of the gibbet.

Some say that certain parties got off lightly given their obvious contempt for the bloke or gal in the street and the palace.
People travelled far and wide so I doubt it was just Londoners booing.
Probably get booed anywhere now, tiggs.
What does “…the so called Queen” mean?

Isn’t she the Queen?
As someone who refuses to stand for a National Anthem that calls on a god I don't believe in to 'save' a queen that I refuse to acknowledge, Deskdiary, my opinion is that the stupid old bat isn't 'the Queen' but just a total irrelevance.
OK, understood.
Tomus, if people are bitter because the queen sat alone they need to get their brains in gear. Firstly essential workers being together every day does not compare to those in separate bubbles attending a one off event like a funeral - and secondly, Boris’s own mother died during lockdown and he was subject to precisely the same regulation. I detest all this manufactured heart-rending nonsense. It’s fake. I wonder if those complaining that an ‘offence’ occurred the night before Prince Phillip’s funeral - which somehow made that offence more serious - themselves sat quietly in mourning for him that night. Bet they didn’t - and frankly there’s no reason they should - but it suits the politically motivated to polish their sanctimonious preciousness in order to peddle the notion.
While Buenchico has clearly stated his objection to the monarchy, I have no objections to the UK being a monarchy on the proviso that I am the monarch.
Not 'king likely. :-)
Buenchico, your posts do your perceived intellect no favours. I’m always surprised when the apparently intelligent pepper their language with unnecessary abuse in order to communicate their political opinion. I doubt the queen is an old bat - or stupid.

Douglas, I didn’t realise there were ‘sides’. Tell us more.
Sorry, can't stop, filling a pail with the droppings from your high horse.

Catch up laters. X
Ok, Douglas. When you’ve finished your chores ….
Could be a while pet, the output is profuse these days.
No rush. When you’re ready.
Nothing to do with who the booees are, but all booers are cowards. Never do you find a sole booer, they always come in nasty inarticulate groups bereft of argument.

chico, it is your right not to support the monarchy but at least treat her as a person, you would not call another old woman names, that's bang out of order. Oh and whether you like it or not she is not "so Called" she is THE Queen the most famous one of all time. The fact you say so "so called Queen" means you acknowledge the possibility of a Queen but doubt the validity of this one so what would make her valid? Please explain this dichotomy.
