TTT - // 14:31, reported, trolling. //

It's an opinion, not trolling.
yes it is trolling, the opinion is fine but he has no need to go out of his way to denigrate the subject, THAT's is the trolling. Gawd no wonder this site is like it is what you mod types can't even recognise trolling. If I went on every soap thread and said what a load of cack it was that would be my opinion but it would also be trolling because I am going out of my way to comment in a subject for no other reason that to be abusive and contrarian.

No, it's his opinion, to which he is entitled, which is why the post remains.

You may feel that it is insensitive to post like that, but that's a difference of opinion, and there is no evidence whatsoever that it was offered with malicious intent.

I refer you to my previous paragraph.

// If I went on every soap thread and said what a load of cack it was that would be my opinion but it would also be trolling because I am going out of my way to comment in a subject for no other reason that to be abusive and contrarian. //

It would be your opinion, but it doesn't meet the definition of trolling as far as the Site Rules are concerned.

If you feel offended, the best thing is to simply skip over any future posts by this AB'er.
I think you are wrong. There is no need to go to into a discussion purely for the purpose of denigrating it. As I said above opinion is fine but going out of your way to annoy people with your opinion is trolling. If I went to funeral just to stand up and say I thought the deceased was an idiot then I'd rightly be trolling and a bit of a rissole. Surely you can see that the trolling is not the opinion but the fact it's not even necessary to deliver it in the circumstances we are in. If it's a general thread about rock music then great but this is an RIP thread where traditionally we say something appropriate or nothing at all.
As someone said earlier; "take a day off" ttt

Your analogy is entirely flawed, and does not compare in the slightest.

But that aside, I have offered my view, and you have offered yours.

There is nothing to be gained by carrying on this discussion, other than to derail the thread, which is surely more disrespectful to the deceased subject being discussed.

I have nothing to add - your report will be analysed by the Editor and Team and action will be taken if they decide it is appropriate.

Shall we leave it there, and return to the sad passing of an iconic musician.
I saw him on Wogan !
when he said his weight would kill him

AND - bat out of hell - sold 100 m copies apparently
and if the profit is $1 which I doubt
then that is $100 m all into lawyers pockets

he said he hadnt made a buck out of it
er excuse me - - excusez moi
am I on the trolling thread
or one regretting Meatloaf's early deff
AH: //Your analogy is entirely flawed, and does not compare in the slightest.// - How?in both cases the protagonist has gone out of their way to annoy a group because they hold a different view. Please explain how it is flawed.

"But that aside, I have offered my view, and you have offered yours." - but you have ignored everything but the "it's his opinion" aspect.

"There is nothing to be gained by carrying on this discussion, " - why? Because you refuse to acknowledge that trolling is not merely the words used or the opinion held?
"..other than to derail the thread, which is surely more disrespectful to the deceased subject being discussed." - ok fair enough

"I have nothing to add - your report will be analysed by the Editor and Team and action will be taken if they decide it is appropriate." _ I have sought clarification in that area

"Shall we leave it there, and return to the sad passing of an iconic musician. " - amen to that!
TTT - // "..other than to derail the thread, which is surely more disrespectful to the deceased subject being discussed." - ok fair enough //

And that's why the rest of your post is being ignored.
1 Nil to me I think!

The majority of the profit will have gone to the record label, and to Jim Steinman as the writer - that's standard practice for recording contracts.

How much Meatloaf made will depend entirely on the deal he signed in advance of the recording, and subsequent success.

He will have made a tidy amount from performance royalties on record sales and radio plays, plus substantial earnings from touring and merchandising.

So I suggest that when he said he 'didn't make a buck', he was being somewhat economical with the truth.
Yikes boys can you do this troll stuff somewhere else please
i get deleted for typing simple things like - - - ;foo!'

There are ccertain things you cant smile at - such as like a bat out of hell.
I thoght the permanent bug eyed look went with the words

You think this is showing respect on a thread about a deceased musician we both admired?

Grow up.
dont blame me I am but the messenger
why I even quote back to ABers the gormless crap they say a day prviously and dont some of them scream and holler !

1623 - Beeb again Lorraine Crosbo - we KNEW it would be a success - I wish ! 1625 "years of law suits, he claimed he never made a dime out of it"
as we speak

is the lesson, people say things just for effect and frack the truth
banish the thought !

How to ruin a thread, in one east lesson.
* easy
Not me miss - I liked him - singing OK
very good words

looked terrible and so gave us er plain lookers or ugly blokes the idea we could make it

I made lots of moolah and poured it into lawyers pockets is a salutary lesson
I haven't read back more than the posts on this page - and I don't think I want to. It was my daughters who introduced me to 'Bat out of Hell' (song and album) and I thought it was brilliant stuff. Very glad they did play it all the way to the S. of France and back! I'm sad that he has died so comparatively young. I thank him for his music. R.I.P. Meatloaf.
