It does seem to me that once people have had 2-jabs, they are fairly well protected from death or devastating illness. So, again just to my way of thinking, any other doses should be offered only to the highly vulnerable. The rest should be made available to countries where the general vaccination rate is low. Just my feelings.

Nobody said we could boost our way out
The booster just helps to maintain a level that will greatly reduce your chance of being hospitalised if you stay topped up

Roy does not accept that the majority, never mind the 'vast majority of deaths and hospitalisation's are in unvaxccinated . In fact am pretty sure myself it's not the vast majority either especially for deaths. If someone from a hospital says its lies or bbc but, if official data shows it its bbc and goverment lies.

Me I have no doubt that an unvaxxed is much more likely than a vaxxed person to end up in hospital but I'd agree the data seem's overexaggarated sometimes like when someone in usa said it was '19 times more likely'.
Seems pointless though trying to use data with those who's convinced the bbc, goverment, scientists and health professionals are lying to get us to have this vaccinne for some unstated secret reason

Our PM is bandying this stat in an effort to encourage those who are eligible to get boosted asap.

It's right to say we can't just boost our way out.
Boosters are key but we also need to remain careful, test , isolate when posative, encourage more to have first and second jabs, maintain social distancing, meet outdoors where possible or limit numbers indoors and use ventilation...and maybe look at vaccinating 8-12 year olds

I think Tedros is speaking from a global perspective. I’m which case he is of course correct.
However politically it is simply not an option not to drive booster campaigns and indeed I think it makes no sense not to do that until
a) the distribution system is improved
b) there is a proper campaign to encourage people in these countries actually to come forward to be vaccinated.
I presume the OP would not be against that?

So many politicians have got their figures wrong so far through incorrect wording in all of this that nobody listens to them
That is why people prefer it to come from the medical experts mouths themselves
