One of them has been found guilty of manslaughter. Why not murder?

LB, surely she must go to jail. and for a very long time.
if she ends up in a Mental Health Institution then there is no justice in that.
No expert but I think she will get life with a minimum term between 15 & 20 years. If she is diagnosed with some mental illness she may serve her time in a secure mental hospital - Rampton. Presumably she didn't plead insanity at trial.
I would hope so but as her mental health is questionable due to her suicide attempts I thought she might be detained elswhere. Hasn't that happened to other killers in the past?
it has happened to other killers in the past. I sincerely hope she gets the maximum that can be doled out, and in prison not some hospital.
Does anybody know what the sentences are yet ? Mail Online just says that she won't come out of her cell to face justice. They should damn well make her !!
Won't do her any good refusing to go into the dock.
//
Her barrister, Mary Prior, confirmed she had spoken to Tustin and informed her the hearing would continue in her absence.//
No news yet ?
As shame life doesn't mean life, but I hope she is made to do every second of that sentence.

Why do people have to interfere when vermin tries suicide, let her go ahead.
She's got a minimum of 29 years.
Thank you. 29 years is nowhere near enough. I was hoping for a whole life sentence. He got 21 I see. Rot in hell.
presume his sentence is not a minimum term so he will probably get out in 10
Was there ever going to be a suitable sentence for these people? I think not .
I have not been following this case, nor have I listened to this poor child’s voice. Much too harrowing. Poor wee laddie . RIP .
Agree Anne, no sentence is ever enough in such cases.
The 29 years is the minimum before release can even be considered; whole life is the expected sentence.
It really defies belief. And the agonies the Jury must have suffered - probably haunt them for life.

I guess the CPS feared that the murder case might have not stuck, although I feel pretty sure it would have.

What really *** me off is the number of Social Services hoops that my brother and his wife had to jumped through before they got the go-ahead to adopt, yet these slime-balls get away with murder (literally) - where were Social Services when they were really required.
Canary, even if she had been convicted of murder I don't think the sentence would have been any greater.
