Exactly, naomi. If you "have" to remove a child from their mother (abuse, violence, neglect... imprisonment, in this case), the very least, for an already vulnerable child, is to make sure they are somewhere loved and safe.

I genuinely don't understand why normal people able to rescue a child out of care, get turned down because they have a freckle in the wrong place... but sex with the mother 7 years previously, means you are the perfect person.
