I think Zacs, you would have to concede - there is no meaningful discussion to be had here, as I suggested earlier on.
Good for them, I hope all volunteers were properly informed. But I would like to see the results.
// hardly. I don't believe Josef Mengele ever asked for volunteers.//

and according to a review in the New England Journal none of the exeriments in the camps were of any use - I am not sure if showing that particular typhus vaccine was close to useless - counts

these things do go froo ethics committees it is just that they arent english committees
( the Kuss trial involved pressing a surgical wound and seeing if the pt went oof!)
// Good for them, But I would like to see the results.//

results should be available within three weeks or so

what suprrises me is that there are so many outbreaks in closed communities - cut off villages, ships at sea - monasteries prisons etc
and no one seems to study them
(other than shrug and say ooo there is a lot of it at X)
Tbf, it's been a few months, so there will be a lot of fast work and quick catching up to do. Many medical trials take years.

Mengele did not conduct is experiments in order to discover anything - that was a nominal sop to higher powers to give an illusion of respectability to anyone who cared - which was no-one.

The truth is, camp internees were regarded as sub-human with no worth or value to the Third Reich, and if some psycho headcase wanted to amuse himself with torture under the guise of medical exploration - who honestly cared less?

How sad.
Word.
Would that be the 'last word' Togo? :-)
I have a shiny new shilling that says 'no'.
PP the cut off villages I get, but all the other circs I would have thought it was clear...they aren't by any means totally isolated and once a carrier gets in, the enclosed close living (especially on ships) lets the virus rip through....like norovirus in a boarding school.
