hardly. I don't believe Josef Mengele ever asked for volunteers.
Question Author
True. Seems the ethos of experimenting on live humans is still around in der farterland, tho.
Experimentation on live humans also took place elsewhere earlier this year - was it Oxford University that called for vaccine volunteers and injected them ? Both exercises are parts of research in the fight against Covid 19. Clearly the perpetual enemy's effort is despicable while "ours" is laudable, remember the sacrifices and suffering in the face of pure evil and all that......
I really can't make the leap from adult volunteers whom science has shown will more than likely shake off the effects of a virus if they catch it, and a psychopath conducting experiments on children without anaesthetic, in order to advance his notion of a Master Race - but if your imagination takes you down that route, you crack on with it.
Question Author
I haven’t commented on our methods. Neither have I described Germany as a ‘perpetual enemy’, but you crack on putting words into my mouth, Karl.

Andy, you’ll notice a question mark at the end of my OP. This means it isn’t my opinion, merely a postulation for discussion. As a mod, you really ought to look out for the nuances of a post. In case you don’t.....jump to conclusions which are incorrect.
Zacs - // Andy, you’ll notice a question mark at the end of my OP. This means it isn’t my opinion, merely a postulation for discussion. //

A fair point - but you would have avoided any misinterpretation of your post if you had simply added something like - An idea for discussion?.

// As a mod, you really ought to look out for the nuances of a post. In case you don’t.....jump to conclusions which are incorrect. ..

As a Mod I am not required to look for the 'nuances' in any post thank you very much, I am required to look for transgressions against Site Rules and act accordingly, nothing more than that.
Question Author
But the nuances could be the difference between transgression and non transgression!

And a ‘?’ should be enough to indicate a point of discussion but I’ve made a mental note to make things doubly clear if you pop up on a thread, AH.
Zacs - Your post and the question you put has made me feel very uncomfortable.
It seems to me - out of respect to his many victims - to be in bad taste.
Question Author
Fair enough.
Question Author
The ‘experiment’ made me uncomfortable too, actually. I think that’s what prompted me to post.
Zacs - // But the nuances could be the difference between transgression and non transgression! //

Only in your fevered imagination I can assure you!

The Site Rules are very clear and very simple, and they don't wander into the realms of 'nuances', so the Moderators don't have to bother doing so either.

I think you are taking this far too seriously!!

// And a ‘?’ should be enough to indicate a point of discussion but I’ve made a mental note to make things doubly clear if you pop up on a thread, AH. //

I have conceded that point.

You present your posts how you want to, please don't bother making special arrangements in my behalf, I am unlikely to notice them anyway.
I am scratching my head here wondering what on earth this has to do with Mengele.
Zacs - // The ‘experiment’ made me uncomfortable too, actually. I think that’s what prompted me to post. //

Me too, as I pointed out.

But actually Zacs, if you re-read your own link, you will see the that term 'experiment' is not used once - it s referred to at different times as a 'project' and a 'study'.

It is you who has decided to term it an 'experiment' and then use your imagination to provide a spurious an non-existent link to the horrors of Mengele, and then promote a discussion about something that doesn't exist in the first place.
ich - // I am scratching my head here wondering what on earth this has to do with Mengele. //

We cross-posted, but clearly you are experiencing difficulty in finding the supposed connection - probably because it does not actually exist.
I think Mengele may have been mentioned in the pub.
Question Author
Once again ‘experiment’ is in inverted commas, AH. Really, if you’re going to miss all the subtleties of my post, I’d rather you didn’t muddy the waters with your tangential opinions.
Question Author
Also I didn’t provide any link to Mengele except to ASK whether people thought it might be connected. I now see most people are either disturbed By the notion, or simply don’t think there is a connection which is perfectLy ok with me.
Zacs - // Once again ‘experiment’ is in inverted commas, AH. //

Is it? Where is that then?

Your OP says, and I quote - "In The Vein Of Josef Megele" - there is no mention of the word 'experiment there at all.

// Really, if you’re going to miss all the subtleties of my post, I’d rather you didn’t muddy the waters with your tangential opinions. //

And I'd rather you didn't try and flannel about 'subtleties' in your post that are so 'subtle' they are not in fact visible to the naked eye!
Question Author
16:50, Andy. Do you need a lie down?
