The ball hit the post so I'm not sure what you mean about a save.
Is what allowed?
He appears to think grabbing hold of the back of the net had contributed to the goal not being scored but the ball hit the post anyway...
Clearly hit the post, the netting made no net difference.

Sorry folks, it seemed 1st showing that the goalie used the net to assist him. Looking again its true he didnt. Funny goal at the other end!
I love sport quirks/anomalies.

For ages I’ve been trying to find a you tube clip, and failing, of a Rugby Union game from the 80s (may have been the 90s), where a player headed the ball, so it wasn’t considered a forward pass or a knock on, and the subsequent try was awarded.

It was clever.
I wouldn’t want to be the Belupo players - especially the keeper - facing their manager in the dressing room after
Remember this one by Coventry City?

They changed the rules afterwards to outlaw it.

Awesome - thanks JimF.

I guess the mistake I was making was looking under Union and not League!

I'm sending you to Coventry!
Unsure why they felt the need to outlaw that one. Kick was made, goal was scored.
The eventual kick was good, it was the way the ball was lofted into the air that was outlawed.
The lesson here is play the whistle, there was no goal they thought there was and celebrated, school boy error.
hoppy 00:38, what law was changed?
The current Law states, "A free kick can be taken by lifting the ball with a foot or both feet simultaneously."
Well I thought they changed things. Why isn't anyone trying it now?
It seems the ban was on the grounds that the ball has to travel the entire circumference before the next hit.
Thank goodness we have VAR these days :-/
