just watch the OFAH episode..."Who's a pretty Boy" can someone tell me why this was cut out? Right at the start Del walks into the Nags head and sees Ranjet, an indian, he says: " Saw your Mrs in the market, she's got a nasty spot on her forehead!" - they both burst into laughter. Whole line cut, why? This madness is destroying the classics.

TV has always offended some people and not others - if you are not the group that is offended, you couldn't care less, if you are, it's a matter of making a big noise about it.
It has always been the same, and it always will be.
The world is changing, and television reflects those changes, as it always has.
I have not watched 'live' television for years, so it's impossible to offend me, because i choose what to watch, and with the endless choices, I can ewasily find things I like, and ignore things I don't.
Instead of being 'offended', why don't you choose your viewing more carefully, and avoid what is going to upset you. In this day and age it has never been easier.
There is plenty of choice for everyone - and that means everyone, so it includes you.

I tolerate offensive parts of shows I otherwise like. I just question why it's ok for me to be offended but even the slightest suggestion of some sort of ism means the show must be cut to ribbons.

" - yes I can watch the DVDs but I consider my self as a curator of the classics, I want the people to still have them unmolested. Should the louvre stick tape over the enigmatic smile when that offends some group or other?

I can only hope the majority will win out because from what I'm seeing right now, the minority is, without doubt, pulling all the strings and demanding that the rest of us dance to their miserable tune - and we, like fools, are obliging, albeit increasingly under duress.
