hi! if you lick the flavouring off a crisp and then put the actual crisp in the bin, is the crisp still very bad for you? I know that's a weird question lol thanks x

Why would you want to? If you want a bag of crisps, have one - it's not the end of the world.

lol I am sick as a chip now!
A bag of crisps may not be good for you, but one crisp won't hurt. However, if you throw the rest of the bag away, that's just a sheer waste of money.

sara for someone accusing me of being at school you are acting pretty immature yourself... I clearly meant licking it then disposing of it! and actually, I'm 21 and just about to graduate and looking forward to starting a new job I've just been successful in applying for, so at the minute half term isn't on my radar...
why not focus on the helpful replies rather than arguing carley, thats the grown up thing to do
You've posted this twice too, so I've put a link to this one where there are more answers.
I dont really understand you can get a fairly decent bag of crisps now for less than 150 calories there are also baked ones with less calories and fat so unless you are completely starving yourself just eat the bag of crisps have you really that little to be worrying about?
Its not exactly the question that a mature graduate would pose. Sara has every right
Wow, this is a pretty heated discussion. I thought "oh, a discussion on the merits of licking all the msg off of a chip. How bad can it be?" Bad apparently.
to think that it is coming from someone of a younger generation and less importnat matters on their mind.

Glad to hear that you have a job and then you will have plenty of more serious matters to think about than crisps dripping chemicals off them
I believe they have outlawed the use of MSG in foods these days
hi ct - these are chips to you........one of those cultural differences.
so your question should have been something like "is licking the flavouring off crisps unhealthy?"

and not "is the crisp still bad for you?"

dear oh dear.
that would be good news indeed, cazz - inc Chinese restaurants???
I think they use alternative more "natural" flavourings, not sure about takeaways though... :o
They hide it. Things like yeast extract, glutamate, maltodextrin, malt extract. Its a naturally occurring substance. Its the reason aged beef tastes better.
'I clearly meant licking it then disposing of it!' - so glad you cleared that up - for a while I thought you behaviour was a bit odd.
Yes, it makes so much more sense, now................:o/
