Just found out someone I know has died of the virus, very fit and healthy 40 something who never went to the GP. 111 told him to go to bed and wait 7 days. 3 days in he was having difficulty breathing and his OH called an ambulance -he was not well pleased but they took him in and 24 hours later he was dead full organ failure. I know we don't need to hear this to realise how bad the situation is, but when the statistics have names full lives wife and children it really brings it home.
For Funks Sake everyone stay at home! :-(

I cannot stay at home. It is not possible to get an online delivery or click and collect.
It is so sad and as you say it hits home when it's someone you know, there was a thread yesterday and predictably there were quite a few ABers who knew someone who had died.
Omg, I’m sorry to hear this Aunt Polly, this is a nightmare we wish we coukd wake up from

Sparklykid, sorry I did not mean people like yourself who need to go shopping. I meant those who really don't need to leave their houses to go for a jog in the park and suchlike.
Just awful! Sorry for your loss and for his family.
I know, just feeling very frustrated. And the cats are hungry.

tigger thanks, its someone I knew through work, though not that close he was such a lovely person would do anything for anyone.
I am sorry to hear this.
So sorry to hear this. It certainly hits home when you know that someone..

Sparklykid: I wish there was someway people could get to know where other AB'ers live because I know I ,and am sure others, would be quite willing to organise food shopping drops.
It certainly brings it home when young, reasonably fit and healthy people are dying as well as those with underlying health issues.
Do you know for sure he didn't have any underlying health issues, as you say you didn't know him that closely?
So sad and unfortunately he is not the first and won't be the last.
It's sad, and I feel for his family, but it will be repeated many times and many families will lose loved ones, we just have to hope it doesn't touch us too closely
Indeed Rowan.

SparklyK, have you tried nextdoor.co.uk. Look for your area and if it's like mine there will be people willing to shop for you.

^^^^^really no need for that iluvmargie it was a typo :-(
That's so awful, and the second one I've heard of. A colleague of mine text me last week, a friend of hers went to hospital with chest pains, went to hospital, was put in a coma and had a heart attack and died, he was early 50s and tested positive for C19. Now, maybe he would have had the same outcome if he wasn't tested positive, but who knows. It's getting scarier and scarier out there.

We had police in the forest car parks earlier today, turning 100s of cars away. Unbelievable.
