Maybe China? With their current Japanese land grabs maybe the US would have to act. I believe the US and Japan have a NATO style agreement.

I would hope that it would never get as far as being a world war, but I think there's a lot of scope for conflict in the far east, along with all the middle east trouble there is right now.
