Come on be fair, I expect she doesn't want to do it either but there are still generations of people alive for whom it's very important. My mother for one until she died last year. What's wrong with tradition?
Each to his, or her own. Personally I have never watched it and never will. How someone as rich as royalty, of any kind, can deign to tell the poor what to do, I don't know. And how the poor can sit there and listen I know even less.
Sorry alexanderd, I am an anti-royalist. Can't see any sense in keeping them. Don't tell me they draw tourists, the French get plenty of people there just to look at the palaces, etc, left by their defunct monarchy, and who ever actually sees them, except purely by accident? Standing outside gates and fences gawping and hoping to see something or other - just can't understand it. However, if that's what you want or need to do, that of course is entirely your choice.
Starbuck one I am not a royalist but I do say live and let live a lot of people like the monarchy, personally I couldnt care less but I think its better than President Blair or Cameron
