Probs written more likely by his mother, Peter ;)
I hope so. Chap on ITV London news just now also mentioned institutional racism within the Met Police. It all needs clearing up.
As disgraceful as this all is, I don't think Rowley is the one to be attacking. He's been in the job less than four months and may well be determined to effect change.

If hundreds of officers are sacked as a result of these reviews, it will show that he has done his job well, not that he hasn't.

Mr Rowley’s tenure has also been marked by a wave of attacks last year that have killed scores of people. They started with the Westminster Bridge attack in March and continued with the Manchester Arena bombing in May and June’s attack on London Bridge and Borough Market.
jno you little heroine!
thx
Thanks for the masterclass in selective quoting, out of context, (without the quotation marks) jno.

Let's see what he does eh?
not particularly selective quotation, tomus, to point out that things haven't always gone right for him in the past so it's unreasonable to expect him to be a white knight who'll solve all the problems. I wish him well but as he pointed out himself, the Met has limited powers to dismiss accused officers.

Police I think are the last to have dismissal beyond easonable doubt. BUT of course EVEN if they change it to balance of probabilities they can make it retrospective

Off the top of my pretty little pedantic head - - -
they COULD say, every one needs revetting, and dismissal is at balance of probs. Would probably need primary legislation but perhaps time cd be found. ( parliamentary time that is!).

Revetting is already in hand ( and vetting for the first time incredz)

those who vetted Carrick on his way over the last 20 y are known and will not be proceeded against, as they are all retired
Phew thank the Lord for that !
heaven forbit justice revisits the guilty
Well done to Northern Ireland

I hope other police forces outside of the Met also do their bit to cull those who should not be police officers/staff. I heard on the news yesterday that they had been told so to do.
