This should attract a few complaints I would guess. On Ch 4 at 2100 hrs. Despatches. The Truth about Traveller's Crimes. They can chalk up the slaughter of a Thames Valley officer recently for starters.

Followed by a Drama reconstruction of the Tony Martin case where he defended his property with an illegal shotgun and killed a traveller who was burglaring his property.

i see they had to abandon the trial
Mmmmm i wonder if travellers are still travelling in these lock down day's of no unnecessary travelling etc.
Probably isolate your village green for their extended family.
Might well be interesting. I'm surprised C4 are showing it.
Hearts of gold, etc.

wasnt the judge threatening to continue without the jury ?

I might have been somewhere near a jury which was threatened by the defendants big bully family - and the men ( real men not me) on the jury determined to bring in hammers, 2 x 4s (staves) and screwdrivers the next day. I thought I better tell the judge

you mean the jury and the defendants family were going to settle it outside the court on the street ? the secrets of the jury room prevent me from confirming or denying such a plan.....
Can’t find that prog on catch up. Any links.
A useless thieving diddycoy is always a useless thieving diddycoy. imho.
We have a council run site close to us. There was a family wedding last year and had a few caravans turn up on our local park, they denied all knowledge of how gate lock was angle ground. Police attended, but to be fair they left no mess.
I’ve got this recorded
Hi Bobbs, deffo worth a look.
I think the trial of PC Harper was postponed due to the current situation wasn't it ?
To add to my previous post, one plus with having travellers living close to us is that I never have to take any old white goods to the council tip, just leave it outside, gone in 2 days max.
my understanding was it was abandoned because three jurors had covid symptoms
//...but to be fair they left no mess.//

I know it's only a figure of speech, Tony, but why is that "being fair". Normal people who mainly abide by the rules of a civilised society do not roam around in caravan convoys breaking into public parks. They certainly don't leave mess and detritus upon their departure. Usually when a "tarring with the same brush" accusation is made about any particular group of people I often think it may be a little unfair and there are usually claims such as "The vast majority of [whatever group is under discussion] are well behaved, law-abiding people." With "travellers" I'm afraid such a claim is not so easy to justify.
Yes bednobs, have a vague recollection of that was why trial was halted.
NJ I can only say council run site near us cause no problems locally, think they are self "policing"
