yup ..horrendously so and usually result in a chest infection with antibiotics..so Iwill try anything to prevent them... going to get flu jab on Thirsday if available in Lloyds
OK Murray but if you have medical need why is your doctor not prescribing them to you as the prescription strength ones are better than those bought over the counter?
was just told to take them.. they are funny about prescribing anything you can easily get over the counter as prescriptions are free in Scotland... same with painkillers if they can be bought off prescription..
Well i dont remember the last time i had a cold,, even when people around me are full of colds so i will continue taking mine.I also eat plenty of fruit. The blackberries in Tescos were very good last week and only £2 a punnet, also the blueberries.
I've had a stinking cold for 5 weeks now but no I don't take multi vitamins. Have always thought that if you have enough fruit and veg, and a varied diet then you didn't need to. I take Vit D as prescribed by my doctor as I'm pretty deficient in it, but nope to stop it soon.
For the past 20 years I have been taking Glucosamine Sulphate,Rosehip and Cod Liver Oil as I suffer with Osteoarthritis. And I do believe they do me a lot of good.
As kids, back in the 60's, us boys took a Halibut Liver Oil capsule every day. My Dad used to be able to buy them through his Union, that negotiated good rates for its Members. I still take one of these, although I am out of them at the moment. I think Mum and Dad thought that they helped prevent most colds.
I've been taking cod liver oil capsule close to 30 years, (Seven Seas.) I must say my joints are very flexible, hair, skin, teeth in good condition. Hey, but who knows?....
Tilly...make sure you get vit D3 ( cholecalciferol ) ...not D2. It's more effective.
As we get older, we don't absorb nutrients from the food we eat as effectively as when we were young, so a good reason to take basic supplements such as vit c.
I have already bought them from LLoyds chemist. It just says Vit D on the tub. I don't know which sort it is, D3 or D2. I just asked for Vit D tablets.
