I'm not aware on what area of the body he was stabbed .

However , do uniformed officers routinely wear staff proof vests ?

Apparently at least one wound was in his neck. If his carotid was hit it would be fast and nasty

Looks like the assailant knowingly and deliberately chose a spot, he knew would be fatal
and his ribcage was hit 'with a substantial wound.' (BBC last night interview with that ex army guy and Royal Artillery alongside Lee Digby who came rushing across)
I think Neck

( silly teenagers do small stabs and if they choose the neck they dont realise that it is easy to kill someone )

The fella in the tube who was stabbed ( you aint no muslim bruv - that one ) got it in the neck - and or however the junior doctor who attended was an anaesthetist so that was kinda lucky ( for that patient )

If you do a Bates Motel stab in the neck with a machete
I wouldnt expect the victim to survive
Bazile, I suspect a wild swing or thrust....it might have been his intent to behead......
He was wearing a stab vest
Tobias Ellwood (one of the MPs who tired to save him) said PC Palmer had been stabbed in the back and under his arm and these wounds had caused a catastrophic loss of blood. If you think of a vest you will surely understand there are areas of vulnerability.

Do you really need a typo explaining?

I think it almost impossible to make a wearable garment that fully protects and does not hinder the person from doing their job, sad though that is.
Crossed there, sorry Baz.

Well it's not as if i'm sitting an english language examination

I've got far more important things to worry about , than typos on answerbank
As I do Bazile, AB is not an English exam :-)
It also doesn't take a second or two to think, is my comment necessary or relevant - will it add to people's understand of the thread.

Then delete before submitting.

I think you will find I am as entitled to an opinion as anyone else on AB.
True is that,

Sorry Baz.
