Met my neighbour's little girl who started her new secondary school this week. I asked her was she liking it and the tears started to flow and she began to weep. What's the matter - Oh Jenny - I hate my class. Only 11 - I nearly wept with her.

She'll get over it.
I suspect that, as theyre all new to big school in her class, theyre all fighting for their positions and forming alliances and your little neighbour has probably has a run-in with a fellow pupil.
I've had an 11yo girl in my class who was so terrified on the first day at her new school that she was quite literally sick with fear (all over my new shoes!).

A week or so later she'd made new friends and was loving every bit of it.
Back at school already?? They go back next week round here!
I cried my first week as a secondary school teacher too! It's a hurdle we all had to go through, within a week or two she'll probably be much happier.

No NoM - she wouldn't have had a run-in - she is the loveliest kid I know. So kind and very good-natured.

^^^ know she'll be ok next week as she would make friends easily.
Oh poor little thing. I bet her mother is beside herself. No doubt she'll settle
In though. Keep an eye on her though regarding bullying.
It's tough to start secondary school. I remember hating it and wishing I could leave, but I stayed on into the sixth form.

I also remember my son saying he hated his private school and wanted to go to the comp with his primary school friends. He ended up loving it.

Your neighbour's girl will be fine in time.
it is only the first day ....

my last day at skool was Dec 1968
and fifty y later my brother asked - did you enjoy skool ?
and I said " it was a place you went to to learn things "
and he said O god ....
// He ended up loving it. //

no I never got to that bit ....

( I loved uni tho' but I found I was very good at one sport ( rowing ) )

I adored school - mother would say - take a day off lovey - not on your nelly ma. Think it was the heat and the school dinners. First time I tasted coconut pie and cream (can't remember the correct name)
Remember the Camp Granada song
She didn't have to initiate it, JJ...
Shelley Berman, if I remember correctly, to the tune of Dance of the Hours.
Sorry, not Shelley Berman but Allan Sherman.
