I have had a cataract op today. Didn’t feel a thing. And lovely hospital staff. Now I have to wear this thing over my eye when I go to bed. I didn’t realise how bad the vision is in my other eye. Anyway, will have dressing off tomorrow and see what this eye looks like

Well done Bobbie, so glad you were treated well too x

The reason I am on here is because I can’t sleep
Sure all will be fine. I have heard great things about this relatively simple op. I have cataracts in the very early stages so may be years before I need anything done. Good luck for the great unveiling tomorrow.
Glad all went well. Hooe you can sleep soon. :-)

You are so kind on here. Thanks very much.
Keep wearing the patch and get a parrot for your shoulder

It’ll have to be a budgie buenchico I have ver small shoulders. Lol
Will you be having the other eye done too?
Question Author
Yes, I think so. I will have an appointment in six weeks. Hope this will be ok as I have diabetic eye problems too, but the consultant said that can be dealt with.
Well, I hope all goes well for you. I can remember how surprised I was at how bright some colours were after I had mine done.
All sounds good so well done to all concerned.

What about a Canary ;-)
That's wonderful

Hi just to let you know that this morning. My eye seems very good. I can see quite well without my glasses It’s just a little bit achey And I am wearing sunglasses as it’s very bright
Glad you've had one done. One more to go, just as easy hopefully.
I've had both mine done about 2yrs ago with no problems whatsoever. The second evening before bedtime, went out into the garden and looked up and saw all the stars. I had'nt seen stars for some time. Great feeling.

I no longer wear glasses except for very small print.
As with you, the hospital staff were perfect.
A friend of mine had two done and she couldn't get over how much clearer and brighter everything looked afterwards ! Glad you're ok Bobbie.
