Sister waiting on an appointment for removal of cataract in a hospital far away - anyway in the meantime got an appointment for glaucoma tomorrow morning in Belfast but was just informed that her appointment has been cancelled. This all came about due to her going to Specsavers to get proper glasses.

Can anybody tell me (in our heads) if the cataract is being removed eventually - would this get rid of glaucoma.

Thanks

No it wouldn't and if the glaucoma is in the same eye as the cataract, then the glaucoma would need to be treated first.

thanks Sqad for that.
Agree with Sqad, as a sufferer of both - the treatment for Glaucoma will be decided and ongoing.
Don't thank me JJ....some surgeons take the opposite view to mine and will operate on a cataract in the presence of glaucoma.

It is a matter of opinion.
