if so how does it work.
My phone indicated its an International call
then a stern recorded voice comes on and says that this is a message
from HMRC (i think) and that there is a warrant out for my arrest
for tax evasion, press one to go through to my case worker
i didn't, but don't know what this is about. Scam??

this is the second call in just over a week. same voice.
clearly
Yes - my sista's friend received one of them last week. He went mad. Delete it
You really didn't need to ask this. Of course, it's a scam. Anything 'International' is dodgy.
Question Author
can't delete it, as its not on my answerphone.
what happens if you press one, ? I am not going to
but its quite unnerving.
do you have 1571 - listen press 1 then press 3 - that deletes it
I never tire of recommending investing in a BT 8600 call-blocking phone. No more spam or scam.

Scam, without a doubt,
Mrs B. rec'd a text from 'them' yesterday say she was owed a Tax Refund of £300+.
Give your Bank Details and we will pay it direct.
They're going to wait a long time ;o)

thanks, thought it must be.

JJ, see Post above yours,

///its not on my answerphone///
got the same phone as jackdaw a belter.. no more calls whatsoever.....bliss !
ok Baldric - howl onto your hat. dont get hysterical over a phone call
Glad you like it, Volty A bit complicated to set up, mainly because the booklet contains only half the instructions; you have to go online to get the full set but it's worth it in the end. My phone hasn't rung for a fortnight. Bliss.

Not the slightest bit hysterical, I leave that to the Ladies.
well worth the money jackdaw
I'd have two words for a caller like that.
I paid nigh on £60 for mine but at the moment they are on offer from Amazon @ £36.49.
Think about it.

If there was a warrant out for your arrest, the police would be at your door.
scam - tell them to collect the money that the Queen passed to you through her Revenue Collection service and that you are due - £36.325 million as you lent her some blue baubles.
I've had the same call but, because it went through to my answering service (that was still saying "leave your message after the tone" while the recorded message had started playing), I only heard the last part of it. It's obviously a scam, as these links prove:
