Today i had a phone call from someone with an (i think) indian accent. He informed me that i had a virus on my computer. After a few minutes (being a cynical old Meldrew) i sensed something wrong and put the phone down. Being not that much knowledgeable of computers i wonder if you good people out there might have had a similar story. I have complete norton security and have no problems with my laptop. Is this a scam?

Hi Islowry

How did this chap that rang you know that your computer had a virus?

He was'nt an Indian Derek Acorah, was he?........if so...........a complete faker!.........."mary loves dick", indeed!....lol
Yes, it's a scam. It happened to a friend of mine. Her young son answered the phone and was about to give the caller some information from the computer. Fortunately, she arrived just in time to give the caller what for!!
