Perhaps I should post this under food but you guys on Chatterbank are normally so reliable !

Years ago, I used to buy a hamburger relish/pickle called Cu-bits ( I think )
It was American and made of cucumber. And there was a sweetcorn version as well. Can't find it anywhere...any ideas people ?

It was made by Bick's....and is Canadian. You may have a long trip....
You can get the sweetcorn relish in Sainburys.
The Heinz product is similar.....but not the original Bick's stuff. Bick's is
part of the McCormick food empire.

Thanks everybody. Not quite what I was looking for. Its the cucumber one that I liked. The prices on Amazon are only slightly cheaper than booking a flight to Toronto ! Still, now I know the makers name, I can start looking. The only supermarket that I have tried is Waitrose, as they are a rarity here in the Valleys !
Have you tried dill pickle with hamburgers, mikey? Lovely.
Now if you had mentioned this sooner, we could have had some flown in for your birthday.
I have looked for this, for years, in many different supermarkets with no luck. :o(
If you want to know if it's available in the UK....ask here:

I always used to wonder how they kept the bits of cucumber in it and why it didn't just go to slurry when it was made - though I probably don't want to know really

Ginge...I emailed Mccormick, and shall report back if I get a reply ( although I am not holding my breath ! )
Well you learn something every day. I never knew that McCormick made Schwartz. It doesn`t look like Bicks is a brand here though http://www.mccormickcorporation.com/Flavors-Brands/Explore-the-Brands.aspx Both Heinz and Vlasic make cucumber relishes (Sweet Relish) in the US though
