something borrowed, something blue and a silver sixpence in her shoe.

Now how on earth am I going to fix a silver sixpence in the bride's shoe? If she gets blisters I'm toast. The only other thing I could think of was to stitch it into the hem of her dress.

Any other ideas?

Glue it underneath the arch.
Where on earth do you find a silver sixpence nowadays???

Wont that look a bit odd when she kneels?

Plus wont it clash with the words "GOT" "HIM"?!
Well you learn something new everyday, I've never hear the last line about a sixpence.

I'm reluctant to suggest anything where it is 'secured' to the outside as if it falls off then the superstitions will, no doubt, kick in.

How about the sixpence in the shoe just for the ceremony?

Online Retro. 99p.

Fair point, Eccles.

I'm not sure about it being in the shoe for the ceremony. I personally cant stand anything in my shoes apart from my feet.
That's inflation for you ;-)
Duuuuuuuh.Very resourceful Barmaid.Good thinking

Plus she is wearing open toed sling backs so I am bit worried it might fall out.
Question Author
lol, the inflation point hadnt occured to me!!!!

It was great Retro - I chose one for the year of the groom's birth and it was here in 2 days.
On the front of the heel?
If it is tucked just under the arch which is a bit more soft /fleshy and less pressure it could work.

Does depend on style of shoe of course. Email Laboutin and ask them to stitch one in ;-)
Make a tiny mesh bag, add a ribbon or silver chain and attach it as a charm.
I'd glue it (with very strong glue) to the underside in the arch.
That's a great idea Mamya
Oops we crossed posts.

How about getting a very fine drill bit and drilling a hole and then wiring it to the buckle, like a charm on a charm bracelet?

I'm intrigued why you chose the grooms DOB and not the brides.....who is wearing the sling backs?
Failing that, if she's having a handtied BQ, ask the florist to put it in under the ribbon.
Wasn't sure if drilling it would let the luck leak out?
Oops sorry Shoota, you beat me to it.
LoL Mamya, I'd thought about the bag idea but was worried it would get snagged off......similarly I was worried about drilling into the lucky sixpence :-)
