When exactly does our summer officially begin here in Britain ?

Not British Summer Time, but the season called summer?

Summer, June July Aug
Autumn, Sept Oct Nov
Winter, Dec Jan Feb
Spring, Mar Apr May

Whatever the weather.

Yes Hoppy we do...well, this year anyway.

I remember 1976 and this is exactly how it began. By August, standpipes were being installed in the towns in the valleys !

June, July and August are our summer months.

September, October and November are our autumn months.

I thought 21 June but so what ?
On the night of 21 June 1941, my father escaped from a German POW camp in Munich, and when in the morning he called at a cafe he forgot to Heil Hitler on the threshold - but the publican ignored that and said: 'what about the news ?' yes ! and then once Brexit is in, we need never have a midsummer day again

the man at the ministry can set midsummer days whenever he wants - even Dec 25th ! and no overpaid eurocrat will be able to say 'no you cant do that'

Seasons do not go with artificial human defined months, unless you have been brainwashed by the meteorological office, they go by the heavens above.
