Hello, and welcome to Nungate Towers for another gathering of the Answerbank's Mad Over Fifties Club. As we all gather in the vestibule before scooting off in pursuit of our favourite pasttimes shall I tell you of all the treats we have in store for tonight?
Tonight the Tailcock will be the "Woffy" a tailcock of distinction and created as a celebration of British Speedway Rider's Tai Woffenden's victory in tonight's Speedway Grand Prix in Poland. Ladies and Gentlemen of MOFC. Britain has a new World Champion! He needed only 6 points to become World Champion which he achieved in the earliest races of this evening (I might also add that he achieved this suffering with a broken collar bone!) A quick round of applause for opur latest world champion!!
Our hot plate special this evening will be a delicious roast chicken with all the usual trimmings! I might also add that our chicken tonight was raised on the Nungate estate - the chickens here are vicious but delicious! On the pudding trolley there is a lovely apple and blackberry crumble (there seems to be a glut of Blackberry's these days since the advent of the Iphone - nice to be able to use them up!) and lashings of custard!
Of course as always we have a wonderful selection of volly vonts, canopies and a welcome return to our menu, horses doovers! mmm yum!
The minstrels are again up in the gallery warming up to give us their toccattas, fugues and madrigals! As the evening progresses they will give us their own interpretation of the greatest hits of Kiss! (?) Moving along, performing in the indoor swimming pool we have the Muckleflugga and Penge
Formation Drowning ..... sorry Swimming team! Up on the north tower the hot tub is bubbling away, the bungee is full of bounce (I reiterate to take care where you "aim" the bungee - moat is full of piranhas) There's a roaring fire in the snug for those in need of a quiet moment, there is also a good fire in the Library, and, the latest edition of Crochet and Arc Welding weekly has just arrived! Tickets for tonight's rofl are available from Belle in the vestibule. Igor has sent a message from his sick bed. He thanks you all for your good wishes, poor lamb is still in traction but hopes everyone will have a good time and he will be back in his chains as soon as he possibly can.
Be assured a warm welcome awaits all who dare enter these portals!

Evening DT, how are you this fine evening? Queenie's almost beside herself with joy at her favourite speedway riders' victory in Poland this evening, we might see her later. Such a selection of goodies for the rofl too....yohurt and coleslaw? Interesting............
Can't say on here what's been going on up this end, will be in touch though
The champagne is to be opened then? Was on it yesterday for the launch of the web site.......... Hopefully the drawing to be completed tomorrow if we get a half-decent day,
Question Author
I think we drank all the bubbles on Thursday evening when Queenie had her little get together with her friends and her Avon customers! Will probably have to stock up again! The evening went well though her raffle to raise funds for the injured speedway rider who has been in a coma for the past 9 weeks raised over £100 and there's still a few more donations to come in yet. She did very well!
Well done her.......
Question Author
I thought she did very well really, as she had to prepare everything herself I wasn't much help to her, been pretty useless lately, (joints etc) I did what I could but she more or less got everything ready on her own, all the cooking and baking and setting up - I helped to sell the stock and counted the sweeties for the "guess the number of sweets in the jar" game as you can see my contribution was minimal (this time)
Good that she has done it and for someone who she cares for.

Quiet around here tonight - do you have fog up there as to the bikers and the Daisy steaming in, never mind Mammar etc?
Send pa up for final :)
Evening your nungateship and DT, Great news that nungate a British world champ.
I think I'll take a bucket of Woofy in celebration if you please, for the roffile I have brought with me a fine collection of Haynes workshop manuals ( the mrs has told me to get rid ! ) of cars of the past which I have owned, examples Rover SD1 3500 1976 onwards, Ford Capri Mk 2 AND 3 1300 - 3000 1974 - 1980 there is also one for the Saab 9-3 2003 onwards :-(
Also half a Crunchie left over from yesterday's 'Thank God It's Crunchie Day'
Evening nungate. Would love to salute Tai's success with a bucket of Woffy.
A couple of vollies would not come amiss either.
Please send my love to Igor. Who is serving tonight?
For the rifle I have, three white nylon picture hooks, half a packet of Blutac. Some sticky dots and a reel of sellotape whsoe end I have mislaid.
Aaah, the cavalry has arrived! Hic.
Good evening Daisy, must say thats a lovely frock you are wearing.

Good evening Daisy, I trust you are well this evening? Plant will be along shortly with some refreshments in a moment.
And good evening to you also, queenie.
Question Author
Hi Tony, how's the new motor?

I haven't dealt with my e-mails this week but I will get back to everyone soon.
Keep your powder dry DTC. May just have need of my cavalry sword.
Oh my God, does Daisy have a double-edged LadyBic? They are notorious for taking chunks of skin out of you.
It's fine thanks nungate, it's taking a bit of getting used to though after the Saab.

Oh a cavalry charge, love them.
So what have you opted for, our beloved goateeman?
Thankyou Tony, always prefer evening dress.
DTC, I'll have you know I always use an Italic Fountain Pen, apart from doing crosswords of course. I do have a perfectly marvellous eraser.
