Met up with a friend this morning for brunch. Plate of scrambled eggs, two slices of brown toast and butter, scone with jam and cream and two pots of tea came to £7.50. Fantastic value, no wonder the place was packed out. Will return.

I hired a BMW 5 series for £70 a day and we are now off to Margate.

Yes, that was for two of us - I had the scrambled eggs & toast and friend had the scone etc. It was a small cafe in Carnoustie which neither of us had visited before. We have a "kitty purse" for our outings which we top up regularly.

Sandwiches. Fish n chips for dinner. Sandwich recipe as follows.

3 chopped up boiled eggs.

Portion of chopped spring onions.
Tin of tune, brine drained. Salt n pepper. Three teaspoons mayonnaise.

Brilliant tasty butty mix.
